No, that orchestral arrangement isn`t by Williams either. It`s from a CD called "Orchestral Game Concert" and was one of five CDs in a series released in the early to mid nineties. It was performed by the Tokyo City Orchestra. Other tracks on the CDs include Super Mario Bros Medley, Star Fox, Zelda - Hyrule Castle and Super Mario World, to name a few.

I would like to make everything perfectly clear. John Williams composed Jaws, the Stars Wars films, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman, the Indiana Jones films, E.T., the Home Alone films, Hook, the Jurassic Park films, Schindler`s List, Amistad, Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot, Pearl Harbor, the Harry Potter films, Minority Report, and Catch me if You Can.
Danny Elfman`s main compositions include Beetlejuice, the Simpsons, Dick Tracy, Edward Scissorhands, the Batman films, the Nightmare Before Christmas, Mars Attacks, the MIB films, Sleepy Hollow, Spiderman, Chicago, the Hulk, and Big Fish.
James Horner`s main compositions have been Krull, some Star Trek themes, the Aliens films, the Fievel films, Field of Dreams, Glory, Braveheart, Casper, Apollo 13, Titanic, The Perfect Storm, Enemy at the Gates, and A Beautiful mind.
I`ll leave it to you to decide who`s the best composer, but John Williams is definitely the most successful based completely on Oscars won. Danny Elfman and James Horner are great composers as well, but you have to look at their director relationships. John Williams is the most successful mostly because he teams with Spielberg and Lucas, Danny Elfman and Tim Burton are always together on films, and James Horner tends to write for Ron Howard films. I`ll leave you with that, bicker away.

If you guys will notice there are two (actually three) Batman themes. One was written by John Williams for the first Batman movie. The second, by Danny Elfman, was written for Batman Returns. Depending on which composer was selected to write, choose which theme was used. The other Batman theme was written for the Batman Animated Series by Shirley Walker.
As for myself, I think both Danny Elfman and John Williams are awesome and I cannot compare the two. As for James Horner... he isn`t very good at creating atmosphere within his movies. If you look at the Perfect Storm soundtrack you will notice his lack of depth and how he never changes his pace with how the movie is going. In short, he doesn`t even compare to the two greats, Danny Elfman and John Williams.

Have any of you heard the music by Klaus Badelt? His works consist of Pirates of the Carribean, the Time Machine, and many others. He is an excellant composer! If you haven`t heard these I suggest you pick them up. Klaus Badelt is defiantely in the top ten best!

No, Klaus Badelt is not good. Or at least Pirates wasn`t. I don`t blame it on Badelt, I blame it on the fact that there were 30 other people who were all composing music for the movie at the same time. You would think that so many people could create a coherent, NICE score. But they couldn`t. It`s Media Ventures, the composing company from hell. Another argument entirely.

I simply love how you back up every single one of your claims.
Now would you also supply me with evidence of Horner`s scores being any good?
Didn`t think so.

Who ever said that Williams stinks has got some real issues. Though James Horner may have been offered to do those movie scores, that does not imply he could have done them better. John Williams` work on Harry Potter was true genius and inspiration to all composers, as is all of his work. Horner has had some good works in the past, however, his music is usually shared with other composers. If you`ve read the Gladiator soundtrack case, you would know that he shared that score with Klaus Badelt and that Badelt`s style is clearly noticed through the entire soundtrack. Horner is not bad, don`t get me wrong, but he is missing a certain dynamic quality that Williams, Elfman, and other top composers have accomplished. So to who ever said that John Williams stinks: You have no ear for music! -ENGIMACRITIC
