I've been told by people that it sounded like a film-music (even though I suspect that the standard answer when someone doesn't know the piece is "sounds like a film music" )

Where did you find it?

I recorded it from the radio as a child many years ago, so I think it's probably was written in the early 80s or maybe 70s.

beyond that... nothing.

It does remind me of something that would be from a movie, play, or opera. For some reason, it reminds me of the Phantom of The Opera (I know its not from it, though). If you ask me, it kind of has a techno feel to it.
