why would you want a song like this. have you ever played the song i mean it is so boring. there is nothing thrilling about it. If you want a wedding song go for arioso. it is a really pretty song, unless you have the trombone parts....

Where to find sheet music: The Ludlows / Twilight and Mist (from Legends of the Fall)

Well, after reading your threads, I can see a lot of people are still looking for "The Ludlows".
Hal Leonard, who is the large publisher that prints movie themes and popular music, never printed "The Ludlows", though they did print piano sheet music for the title track from "Legends of the Fall" (1st track on the soundtrack CD). These are two completely different pieces. There was a version of "The Ludlows" printed in a $35 book called "The Definitive James Horner". This book was printed in England in the late 90`s and is now out of print and very difficult to find. I have been fortunate enough to review that version of "The Ludlows" and while it`s similar to the soundtrack, it`s not quite the same.
Looks like there`s a new book out with a collection of movie themes that also includes "The Ludlows". I haven`t reviewed that version yet, but the book is $35.
So where *can* you get sheet music? Well, I transcribed it from the original soundtrack, using some "slow down" software so I could hear every note. I ended up doing this for my string quartet after wedding clients requested the piece and (as most people have discovered), the music just wasn`t available.
I entered it into my sheet music software and have since done different arrangements of the piece: Solo Piano, String Quartet, Quartet & Piano, String Trio, Flute-Violin-Piano trio, Violin & Piano, just to name a few.
After posting the title on my quartet`s website as an example of a request we had done, the search engines picked up the page and I`ve been getting e-mails for this piece ever since. In fact, I`m now in the process of obtaining a print license from Hal Leonard so that I can formally publish it and make it avaiable to everyone. I`m hoping the license process finishes soon.
In the meantime, (for legal reasons), I cannot sell copies. But if somebody has a wedding or time-sensitive event, send me an e-mail and we can work something out.
I have a page devoted to "The Ludlows" on my string quartet`s site that lists my complete list of instrumentations and also has an MP3 of my arrangement (computer generated) that you can listen to. http://www.after5stringquartet.org/Ludlows.htm
Hopefully I`ll publish soon and we can all have a copy! :-)

First of all you need "Note Worthy Composer"(NWC) wich you can find all over the internet. It doesn`t matter if you have a shareware version, the only tning you must have on NWC in the MIDI converter, if you doesn`t have it on your downloaded version, you van download it from: http://noteworthycomposer.com. I myself have NWC 1.70.11 with a MIDI converter.
When you have NWC with a midi converter, you have to download the midi file from: http://www.sunncity.com/music/index.asp?midi=l or from another website.
then you open the midi file eith NWC and then you`ll see the NOTES! (you first have to save the midi on your pc ofcourse)
Then you`ll see that it isn`t playable, so, you have to arrange and transcript a little bit, or maybe you`ll change the intstrument with the instrument patch.
After this all, you can play "THE LUDLOWS" on your piano, or any instrument!!
When you find it to difficult to arrange etc... send me a mail, I am arranging right now, so when i`m ready with it, I`ll send you a mail, with the arrangement!
You`re Welcome!
