Thank you all for the informations, but it is for 2 violins, 1 viola and 2 celli`s in the film they play it on 1 violin and 1 cello is that dueable, can you just take it and play it on only 1 violin and 1 cello or do you have to rewrite it?

What about the name of the music that is played during the credits. This piece is not used in the soundtrack, but plays on for awhile when the end credits are rolling. Anyone know the name of that piece of music? I can`t find it anywhere.

PBS has just used this piece during the credits for the new Sherlock Homes and the Case of the Silk Stockings with Rupert Everet.

Great mileage from Luigi.

You`ll problably all love his quitar quintet in e minor, by the way.

When the end credits are rolling, I still can`t find the name of the music that is playing (played right after we hear the captain and doctor playing their duet). That song leads into other assorted sound track music when all the final credits are moving along. The song is a very quick rapid violin sound. I did not hear it on the CD soundtrack for the movie.

I thought it was the Vaugn Williams theme from Thomas Tallis, but I`d have to go back and listen.

This piece plays well on classical guitar.

Play the cello part, treating the alto cleff like treble cleff and it will come out in A major.

Lots of fun.

Paul,
I too saw that Al Pacino movie in the early 80s & fell in love with that piece of music. Only this year did I hear it again on a friend's Boccherini CD & recognized it. I can't confirm as a documented fact that it's the same piece, but I instantly knew it had to be, at a distance of almost a quarter century.
