Frauke,
I know you must be really frantic about getting your oboe stolen, but I don`t think this is the right place to tell people about it. I know, I have had important things stolen right from under my nose. I know this may get you down a bit, but I`m sure that since it has already been two weeks since it was stolen, it will be impossible to find your instrument. If someone breaks into your home, chances are, they know what they`re doing, and it`s doubtful that you`ll see you oboe again. I`m sorry to have to tell you that, but this is reality.
There are people out there who steal things to make money, and the best thing you can do is to get your instrument insured. That`s what my parents did as soon as they got my saxophone. If you do get another oboe sometime in the future, I`m sure your parents` insurance company can arrange something for you.
Just be glad that something more important wasn`t stolen from you, like your baby pictures, art projects, yearbooks, etc. Things like those have priceless sentimental value, and can`t be replaced.
Keep playing the oboe.
