i`ve been playing trombone for a few years and i`m really good but i don`t like playing it. i love the sound of a french horn and i can play it. do you think i should switch to french horn altogether? i can`t play both because it`ll mess up my "chops" for trombone.

I guess it depends on what kind of music you want to play in the future. Trombone is suited to all kinds of music, whereas the horn is more suited to orchestral and concert band music. If you want more versatility in your playing, I would suggest sticking with the trombone, or the trumpet. The horn is indeed a very beautiful instrument, however, so if you really want to learn it, the choice is yours.

How do you know if it`ll mess up your embochure? I play both with no problem. The mouthpieces are so different that I don`t find it too hard to move between them.
I would say go with what you like, but if you`re good on trombone, don`t give it up entirely.

I have a trombone that I play sometimes..not always...very rarely..OK I admit never because it`s boring! Do the French Horn!I only play wood winds, piano and organ but do French horn!!
