Hey,
I have festival coming up next Wednesday and I need some help! At the moment, we can`t really afford to get my oboe fixed so I need to see what I can do. I`ve only fixed my oboe a few times so I don`t really know too much about how to fix problems! Okay...first off...yesterday, my oboe wouldn`t play any notes except for low G, Ab, A, Bb, B, and C! So, me and our other oboist(who`s been playing as long as me)tried to figure out what was wrong. She couldn`t figure it out, so(with about 15 minutes left) she went back to play with our band.It took me the whole rest of the band rehearsal time at school to fix it! Now there are some new problems....I can`t get a clear forked-F and I can`t even get an E-natural! When I play Db(which is a lot) ,and I keep that 2nd key of the right hand down(except for Eb), the C-key sticks and messes up my next note! Then there is only 1 other problem...(LOL)... when I go up a scale, my Bb sounds really airy and I can`t figure out why! Other than that, everythings fine!
But I really need to know:
~Can I fix it by adjusting certain screws?
~Do I absolutely have to take it to one of our local music stores?
~Would a music store tell me what to do or look it over w/o charge?
I really need help! I only have one week (and counting) to get everything working right! All advice is welcome! Thanks!
