I noticed this was asked in a recent post, and I think that it deserves a post of its own. Might as well expand on it. Put your age, year in schooling, and your primary musical interest (i.e. piano, viola, saxophone, composing, etc.)

I`m 18. I`m a freshman in college, and I`m a saxophone person.

This seems to be the most common topic on 8notes...

I am 17 years old on June 1st, and I`m finishing grade 11 in high school (we don`t use the terms freshman, sophomore, or senior in Canada). I mostly play alto saxophone, but I also play other saxophones, the piano, the bass guitar, and the drums (on occasion).

I also devote a considerable amount of time to composition. I am currently working on a jazz band arrangement of the "Super Mario Brothers" theme. I am taking fine arts after high school, and aspire to eventually be a college music professor. It`ll be a long road, though...

im 15, in grade 9. I play saxophone... also mainly alto but i like to switch em up a bit lol, piano, bassoon ,penny whistle and a bit of percussion now and then :D anywho im out

oh i go to a highschoool of arts (for sax,bassoon, piano, and ballet)and im hoping to go into the military band when i turn 16 or 17(if i make it in) and continue to teach piano... im also candian

I am 64. Played cello and trombone from the 6th grade through 12 th grade. Continued trombone a little in college. Gave up trombone for 12 years then took it up again in the 70`s and played with a couple of dance or stage bands you call them now that played the old music from the 30`s and 40`s through the present styles of that time.
Put it down for another 20 years then took it up again to play at church and a couple of jazz bands at local coleges.
12 years ago I took up bass and still play that mostly at church.
Recently started up cello again after a 45 year lay off and am enjoying that instrument like never before.
I mostly play christian music but love big band music and some contemporary. I really like most kinds of music but some country and western and rap kinda get to me and I cant listen to them long.

Im 13 and go to secondary school and play the keyboard!!!(50 minites a week,thats when i have my music lesson.)

i am 16 and i have played guitar for 9 years son.

I`m 13, I play the flute as a main instrument right now, used to play clarinet, and switching to bassoon this summer. I also play the piano at an uncertain level because I used to have lessons but I don`t now and I teach myself, but I can play pretty advanced music but only music I want to play. If I succeed on the bassoon playing, I plan on joining a youth symphony orchestra.

I`m 18 and I`m playing tuba for 4 years. I`m from Slovenia.

im 13 years old and im currently nearing the end of7th grade. i play the clarinet in symphonic band and have recently quit piano lessons (cause my piano teacher couldnt teach me anything more) i usually focus on my clarinet skills even though somtimes i think it hates me >.<

I`m 14 and play the flute it is awesome. I`ve played the flute for 4 years.

i uh......... dont want to sound like im bragging on myself but, ive been playing piano for a year now and i am very close to concert pianist level. and i also play the flute

I`m 13. I`m in 7th grade but only about 24 days till summer vacation. I play alto sax, a little bit of clarinet and mainly play jazz with my sax.

I am 15 in 9th grade and i play the alto sax, tenor sax, bari sax, clarinet, flute, and a little trombone.
I mostly play the alto sax.
I have been playing for 6 years. I play in concert band, jazz band, pep band and the marching band.
