You need more Jazz music, there are only 2 Jazz songs for sax. Also, harder sax music would be nice.

I agree with you, but lets face it, the sax isn`t the most popular of instruments, never has been, it`s always been that in-between kind of thing. it would be nice if 8notes has more music, but, until then , I suggest you go out and buy it.

Go to the El Bimaci Saxophone Quartet website. There is a lot FREE to down load. Unfortunally NO Jazz, only classical music.
Take a look anyway at http://wwwsax.quartet.freeler.nl

I don`t agree with the above line about saxes not being very popular or not ever being popular. The sax was the main instrument in the early 1900s (Between 1920-1950 or so.)It`s popularity did drop after that but its comming back. My school band has more saxes than any other instruments. And this is not a rare thing. We recently competed in a competition and I watched some of the other bands and saw that the saxes were usually the biggest or second biggest section.

http://www.saxshed.com - this is the site i was talking bout... its got a mix of jazz and classical (but mostly jazz - the good stuff!!) There`s stuff about improv and all that, and heaps of transcriptions of pieces by Charlie Parker, Wayne Shorter, Steely Dan, sonny Rollins, Ben Webster, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, and the list goes on. You can also request a transcription (although i haven`t tried this, so i don`t know how good a response you get!)
Try it, its a really good site!
