I am 14 and I am looking for a purple alto saxophone. My band teacher said that most companies sell colored saxophones but I am unablt to find any. All I have found are purple Hunter`s, purple Hawk`s, and Purple DC Pro`s. Has anyone heard of these brands? Are they good? Have you heard of any other brands that sell purple alto`s? What are some good or top brand Atlos? Please e-mail me at djkltt12@yahoo.com

other than say LA sax and maybe some moniques (NOT ALL!!!) i wouldn`t trust a purple sax. Besides, you really want a purple sax?! shoot for a black or silver one. but whatever you want. what is your price range? that would help.

Black saxophones and brass instruments are sooo cool! Especially black trombones.

I`ll just ask you, first of all, why do you want a coloured sax so badly? Unless a company like Selmer, Yamaha, or Keilwerth decided to start lacquering their instruments in strange colours, I wouldn`t trust the quality of one. I have seen purple, blue, green, and other wild colours of saxophone made by L.A. Sax. I have never tried one of their instruments, and I don`t plan too. My advice would be to stick with one of the more common finishes, because the other colours don`t really serve any purpose other than for show.

ROCK ON!!! COLOR SAXES RULE!!!!
dont let any one tell you they have no purpose. having an sax in the color you want can inspire you to play to your full potential. L A saxes are suppose to be ok. I think the player matters more than the sax, but make sure the brand you buy is at least decient, and won`t break down in two weeks.

just a warning, most of the purple laqured saxes on Ebay are student horns, not pro. (always look for a brand name. No brand name = proabaly suks. player makes the horn though.
