ok...im in my 2nd year in band and what ive noticed is that some of you guys are snobby and think you guys are the best. like one of you guys said...your right about not buying a flute until youre more experienced but PLEASE ...you guys just sound so conceded and stuff...its just like no...and who cares what chair youre in...as long as you know how to play the instrument...thats all we need to know....DAMN!!!

yeah i think you might be right. just cause you can play a song on the flute doesnt mean you gotta make it sound like you know alot about it. i think bibis right

i think bibi`s extremely right!!! that`s like some of the flutes i know.... they knew how to play (alright at least) and so they made fun of other instruments (don`t ask me why) and of the younger players, when they themselves, wanting to be heard, played so hard, they went totally sharp!!! but that`s also like our first chair flutes, OH MY GOSH!!!! they are totally conceited and just talk to eachother... anyways, yeah, you`re right.

u know ur the best when u can do vabrato and flutter tunging. i play flute and i can do vabrato but not flutter tunging. also u know ur good when u can do higher level music

But!, that doesn`t, in any way, mean you are the best! I`m sure many people can do that, I know our juniors can! You have to prove by not acting like you are the best by playing GREAT and not totally acting like it.

I dont think im the best far from it. I really do think the other people consider "Flute players" as snobs why is there so much hate and No love?? :P

but I agree with as long as you know how to play.

And you know what annoyes me? When people think just because they have a more expensive flute, they are a better musician. Erm.... Nope.

Okay I agree to appoint. The purpose of music is to have fun... note sit around on your buts *learning nothing while you are doing so* saying how much better you are than someone else. What`s the point in that?

ive only been playing the flute for 7 years, and i am only 16, but i dont think that that flute players are conceited? the first chairs in my high school band do talk alot, but they dont show off or put other people down. i am 5th chair out of 12 people in the flute section. i im not one of the "top knotch" players in the band, but as long as i know that i can do techniques like vibrato and double tonging, and that i can play the pieces that i like.. thats enough for me..

Yeah... I mean.. I`m first chair in my high school band and all my friends aren`t even first chair.. And I don`t go around telling everyone how better I am than them either. I believe that all instruments are equally hard and easy in their own ways.

I am first chair of my school`s concert band.

Am I the best? Oh gosh, no. There are the four flutes in wind ensemble. Also, all of the flutes below me (at least the first 13 after me or so) are better than me just by pure luck that they have had more experience with the music we`re playing.

i play the picillo, but that is much diferent from the flute, i do not like snobby guys who think flute pwns.
