man, i am so worried right now. because i can`t make it to band camp. see what happened was my family scheduled a family vacation on the week of band camp. and i can`t do anything to change that date. but what really sucks is that marching band camp is required for all marching band students in our school. it may even be possible that i may not have a spot in the ensemble for next school year if i don`t come. i am so nervous that, all i can think of is my band director rejecting me for a spot. what do yall think?

what do you mean they catch up later? are you saying that the students in your school who miss band camp are still able to participate in the marching band??

Is there a possibility of rescheduling the family vacation? If this camp is important to you, then your family should be supportive of your talents, and adjust the summer around you. If they can, but aren`t willing to make that sacrifice, then there`s a problem.

That`s my suggestion.

Well, if your family is unflexible, have them write them a letter to your director...

in my school...if you miss band camp, you wont be able to go to the band trip..but he allows them to be in band camp...and maybe, if the member who missed band camp just volunteers for stuff, that member would be reconsidered...-_- but thats just my band director...

Two options...
1: Your family changes their schedule
2: Have them write a letter to your band director.

well, i wrote an e-mail to my band director just a few weeks ago. i had explained the reason why i couldn`t make it to the camp. after a couple days later, he then replied "come and see me on the first day of school. i do pick up students as others cannot fulfill the requirements." so what do you guys think? i think he wants me to audition for him. do you think that this is a good sign?

Welp. smack the bacon...lick the watch...pimp the nanny...drop the lobster...spill the chilly...moose the cheese pie...and observe, as the flaming beef chunks fall crippled to the ground.

so you are saying that the kids in your school still participate, even though the show and spots have been planned out? how does that happen?

the guy that writes our drill knows ahead of time that they will be gone. so he just includes them in the show and they learn later.

yeah i know this is a big step towards my music thing-a-majig. but sometimes life is this way. well, the good thing is that i told my band director ahead of time, of my absence. so he should probably include me in the show, or at least an alternate eight. he can`t just not put me in the show or not make me an alternate for no reason, cause evey band student deserves to participate in any band curricular activity they want to, including marching band, right?
