Hey everyone, a couple of weeks at band camp, we played a song called: "The Mansions of The Lord". This is a REALY beautifull song that is a great teaching tool for young bands. It was the funeral march played at Ronald Reagans funeral. It is so simple yet, so powerful it may bring a tear or 2 to your eye`s. Its a very sad, touching song arranged by michael brown. The song is a dedication to all family member, loved ones, and even pets that have passed away. If your a Band director looking for something amazing to play at your next concert, this one is great. I`ll explain the different parts is you`re intereted, if not you dont have to read any further...
Tempo-60
Measures 1-14: The Funeral
Measures 14-27: Saddness (By the way, it says the speed up at this part, but I recomend that you maintian the tempo of 60, it sounds so much more touching)
Measures 28-34- Deep Sorrow, sobbing. (guys, this is the part that will touch your soul.)
Measures 36-End: Celebration. Even though this persons past away, you know that their in a better place and as long as their still in your hear. Thir still alive.
***I highley recomend this song to any Band director look for something to play at thier next concert.... trust me your band, yourself, and the audience will love it.
