I have a sound classical training but I am having trouble producing the traditional klezmer glissandos, krechts and notes that sound like they are being stopped in the middle. Can anyone explain to me how to do this?

Listen to as much klezmer music as possible. One can learn alot this way, then it is a matter of practice. Several companies offer cd`s that one can play along with and there are many music books on klezmer for sheet music.
