Does anyone play the alto flute,is it used as much as the c flute and how much are they?

The only time I played an alto flute was in the orchestra for a play. and I didn`t play it very often. no, it`s not used as much as a concert c flute. It`s harder to play to because it`s in a different key (Eb) and it`s different to lip. Sorry I don`t know how much they cost.
