I am the only oboe in my band i feel quite special though it is hard playing fast music i sit with th e flutes since i am the only oboe, i do understand that u will have to shwitch to anther instrment if you want to be in the marching band.anywho it doesnt make my feel bab at all so it shouldnt get you down:-(.

In fact, I currently am the only known oboist in my band. [There was suppose to be another one, but she had quit. I knew her.]

And during marching season, I march with the flutes. The experience was rewarding as you can say. I learned better air control in the high registers.

Anyways... being the only oboe. It`s sort of difficult for me because I`m only a freshman. Back in junior high, I had the other oboist with me so I wasn`t that lonely. But now... I guess I`ll have to face the music. [Literally.]

Oh, does anybody have any advice for a returning oboist? I`v been playing flute too long. But I have been trying to get my hands on a functional oboe lately. ~Thanks in advance, just drop me a line @ my addy.~
