I have a linton right now. they are not as bad as a selmer bundy, but not that great either. Mine has a lot of water problems. Getting a full conservatory is a good idea. It should have a left hand E flat and F. the F key is nice for slurs, and the E flat is good for playing in the keys with lots of flats. The linton oboe is missing a key on the side so the forked f fingering is a little sharp. If it`s just for high school I wouldn`t get a wood one right now unless you plan to play in collage. if they get a crack, they need to be taken care of immediately and properly.

when i bought my oboe(from Ebay) it was in worse condition than stated. be careful and good luck. i would recommend a Renard oboe. they are not as expensive as a loree, but play beautifuly.
