I`ve been playing the flute forever but have just started the oboe a year and a half ago. I can play complicated music but i just can`t get a good sound. i know there is stuff out there that i can do everyday with my oboe to achieve better sound and tone quality, but i don`t know what. help please!

use professional handmade reeds i make my own but buy reeds for a spare at www.halldoublereeds.com. Also your oboe has a big part of the sound. If you play on cheep bundy/selmer or any plastic oboes your tone will suck. I play on a loree, thats will make a huge different in your sound. Plus if you have good air support will help too.
