Yes, you need to change the oboe,you weel never get a warm sound out of a plastic piece of crap,recomended are loree or marigaux and I`m sure that you can find a good second hand for 2000-2500$.Good luck.

haha you make me laugh. You can a very good sound out of a plastic or resin oboe. I played on one for 3 years until I moved up to a wooden one. A plstic oboe won`t have the fullness of tone but the overall principals apply such as vibrato etc.
