Hey,

I play fife. I was wondering if it has the same (or close to same) fingerings as flute or piccolo. B/c I play oboe and need an instrument to play for marching band next year. This year I am playing cymbals and need another instrument for next year. Thank you much!!

I play the fife, and have many friends that play the flute. The fife is easy enough to learn, but DON`T play it in MB!!!!! The fingerings are close, but the flute has more keys. Start on flute, then switch to pic, and ask your band director before switching. many directors have flutes up the wazzoo, and need other insterents, like the tenor sax(my new insterment) or the slide tromone, and it is rather easy to learn those two insterments.
