somebody please help me understand why anyone would want sheet music to songs for instruments that do not show their faces anywhere in the original song? i don`t get why someone would want sheet music for the flute or the violin for songs that have no violin or flute parts. Something tells me that if there were a flute player in Bring Me To Life, they would pass out before the rap part....asking for the violin part to Bring Me To Life is like asking for the guitar tabs to a piano concerto...If you want sheet music for a concerto, learn to play the piano. If you want tabs to metallica, you might want to learn electric guitar. If you want to join a reggae band, buy a steel drum...

I think the reason is because they like the song and want to play it themselves. There would be no point in learning to play a whole new instrument just because you like a song. But, I do see your point - I don`t suppose Bring Me Back To Life sounds very good on a flute or violin!

I would learn to play a whole new instrument just because I liked a certain song

Have you heard of any of the songs for flute. most of them are really old (from like 1770 and stuff) i like playing flute but sometimes i want to play a popular song. there are no popular songs with flute bits so maybe thats why people ask for sheetmusic that doesn`t have that instrument in it. :-)

With lots of songs, you can do a sloppy kinda-sorta transcription to another instrument. Esp. if it`s like organ to piano or something like that.
