i`m in the 8th grade now and ever since last year i`ve had a size 4 reed . the reeds, everytime i get a new one keeps seeming a little more softer is that normal? do i get a bigger size reed. I play the bass clasrinet during concert season when my band needs on, sometimes Eb sax or tenor sax, but mainly clarinet. i use a 4 on all of them but during all region i had bought a size 3 1/2 plasticover for bass clarinet isn`t that like a normal 4 1/2 reed

I use different strength reeds for all my instruments. YOu need to find one that fits your style of playing on the instrument.

This is the third year that i`ve played the Clarinet and i play on 4. Well last year i bought a 41/2 (out of curiosity) and i don`t think i will begoing to that for a LONG time. but the point is that you sould use whatever works best. My teacher uses a 3 1/2!
