well, in your right hand, you hold the stick between your thumb joint and your pointer finger joint. keep your fingers tucked in at all times. play with your palm facing down. in your left hand, hold the stick with your palm facing up. the stick goes as far back between your thumb and pointer finger as you can get it. wrap your pointer finger around it, then place your thumb on the last joint of your finger. keep your pinkey and ring finger bent under the stick, and your middle finger is just there for balance. that`s pretty much it. let me know if you need more help.

this is kind of nasty but put your thumb and pointer finger around the drumstick so if you put a screw through your thumbnail it would come out of your pointer finger then lightly wrap the rest of your fingers around the drumstick

i don`t think you even know what you`re talking about, tyler. tightly wrapping your fingers around a drumstick will screw you up while trying to roll.

just ask your band director for a rudiments tape and just watch and practice, you should get it in no time, that is if you`re devoted.

First off Match IS the same as regular grip, and once(if) you switch to Traditional sticking, dont plan on playing match very well again.
Second goto like www.drumlines.org or something and post on the forums there.
