My husband has a violin. The markings on the inside read:
Line 1: Ferdinanods Gagliano Filus
Line 2: Nicholai fecit Neap 1760
That is all there is with the exception of a scrolled border top and bottom,all in black.
It is in wood case. It has a trademark on the back of it which I tried to trace and appears to be an importer with two initials, not sure what they are G&B. Made in Italy is indicated below. The case appears original.
Does anyone have any information on this.
