There are lots of good books out there for total beginners. Go down to yr local Music retailers to have a look for yrself. But i would recommend this for total newbies : A tune A Day, Violin Book 1 by C Paul Herfurth. U can use it with Suzuki book 1 if u wish to. But dun over rely on the Suzuki method too much. Esp, if u have no previous music background.
