I have been told I need a shoulder rest but as I am just a beginner I have no idea what would be the best brand/kind of shoulder rest Could someone help me

It really depends on you. The general consensus is that the Kun Bravo Collaspable is one of the best, as used by a lot of philharmonic/orchestra players. But there may be other cheaper models that will do yr shoulders and chin more justice as well. U have to try diff types b4 deciding which one gives u the most stable, comfortable grip. And it depends on the `slope` of yr shoulders and the length of the neck also.
