I played first trumpet in high school and took private lessons from the best teacher in San Francisco. I have decided to start playing again after laying off for 50 years. I have started at square one playing scales and low notes. I am not having any trouble with the fingering but my lips are not coming back as quickly as I expected. Any ideas other than "quit trying" ?
