I´m 20 yrs old now, and it feels like I´m getting nowhere with my playing- I´m stuck on the same piece, and I don´t know anybody who plays the piano. It is my destiny to be intermediate forever

Look, you`re now taking advice from a 16 year old. Just get a good teacher. That`s what I`ve been doing. Don`t put yourself down otherwise you really will suck. I mean, who wants to hear a whiner? Not me! And at your age, you should know that by now! Join a college band, or for the summer, go to a band camp. Test yourself everyday by sightreading new music. That really builds up your quality. Don`t like the reed? Buy a new one! Stand in front of the mirror while you`re playing to see if your fingers are covering the holes!

Sorry. I didn`t realize you were playing the piano. Go to a different forum! At the piano forum you might be able to find someone who can give you tips about the piano. Ask someone at your college to see if they know of any professors that are majoring in music and play the piano. That shouldn`t be too difficult!
