Hey
I don`t play the cello, or any string instrument; I play the saxophone. But a gliss (glissando) is when one note changes into another while hitting all the notes in between. Imagine a trombone, when a trombone player moves the slide without stopping the pitch, that`s a gliss. You hear all the pitches between the two notes. It sounds really cool. I think you can achieve a gliss by sliding your hand from one note to another without changing the direction of your bow. But don`t trust me because I don`t play the cello. Ask a cello player. I hope I helped

Hey, when you "gliss", all it means is that you slide your finger up the fretboard or fingerboard, whatever you want to call it. For example, if your cello were to have frets and the sheet music said gliss from 3 to 5, you would slide your finger from the third fret to the fifth fret. Got it? let me know if i helped you out.

Hi,
According to many of my music teachers, learning the violin and the cello is "dangerous". The more you learn the cello, the worse you`ll get at the violin. A gliss is when u slide from one note to the next. Its a lot easier on a stringed instrument than on wind instruments.Simply press down the first note and slide your finger to the next note with your bow still moving.
