I am very excited about the oboe that I rented yesterday. I have no teacher but a good book, and am working my way through the notes. Putting this lovely instrument together, however, worries me - despite greasing the corks I still have to wrench the pieces to twist them, and so have to have my hands all over the fragile-looking keys to do this. Am I going to damage it?
