I have heard that monique saxaphones are horrible instruments that you should never buy. I personally play a monique saxaphone and love it. All of the notes play in tune, the keys are quiet when you press them, and its durable. I just want to hear your take on the company if you have anything to say.

I fully agree with you as I have been playing a Monique alto for 6 years and have just bought a soprano a few months ago (beautiful). It`s really all in the quality of the mouthpiece and reed...

well, the reason moniques have a bad and good reputetion is because of the factories they are made in. well, duh. what i mean to say is that moniques are made in taiwan and china. genneraly speaking (spelled correctly of course) china saxes sul, but not all, and vice versa. so, it depends what dealer you get. Good dealers check each sax and only buy from the good factories, but others don`t care and only want $$$ and sell the crappy ones to. I`ve never played or seen a monique in person, but have contacted the dealers to ask questions. hope that helps
