Which way should you play the flute

I`m getting a flute for my birthday since I love that insterment. But I was wondering which way you play the flute. Is it left or right or is it just the different mouth pieces.

You should hold the body of the flute to your right. All flutes are the same so headpieces don`t really matter. Good luck in playing the flute. You`ll have tons of fun. Just remember, if all else fails just practice. Practicing is the only way to becoming a beautiful flute player, and I`m sure you will be.!!!

Flute is played to the right.Left hand first,then the right.Played that way on every instrument,but there might be a few exceptions.
