I am just starting the oboe. When i soak the reed, do emerse the whole thing in water or just the cane part? I need to know quickly plz!!!

I don`t play oboe, but I do play clarinet and sax. When soak my reeds I soak only the part that goes in my mouth. But that may be different for double reeds, I don`t know. Anyway I hope this helps.
