I recently bought a new cello online. It`s a great quality cello and it sounds wonderful but i`m having trouble tuning it! Everytime I try to tune it my pegs on all 4 strings slip. I`ve tried peg compound and all the other tricks I know, anyone have any ideas?!

I was stuck in that same situation about a week ago. My dad figured it out. you have to push in the pegs as you turn them. If you look at the holes on the other side of the pegs you will see that the peg is far away. It needs to be closer to the opening of the hole. In other words you have to push it in a lot because the company that sells it to you doesn`t push them in all the way. you have to do that yourself. i need help also. Besides using the pitch pipes, how do you tune the cello. Can i use an electric tuner and if i can, in how many Hz`s does it tune in? Hope that helped
