Hey guys. I am working on a Carl Stamitz piece for an audition in two months. I have to have the piece memorized and it is three pages long and has a lot of 16th and 32nd note runs. All of the runs are at allegro and they are staccato. I am having trouble getting my fingers and my tounge to hit at the same time. If you have any tips I would appreciate it. Thanks

An exercise that my former teacher gave me. Do this for all the runs.
First, play it slurred. Then play just the first note of it repeated in whatever rhythm the run is in. (I also play it using whichever note is the most resistant). Do this a few times, then play the run as written. It pays to do this with a metronome so that you can be certain that your fingers and tongue are moving at the same rate.
