Tay,
If you`re anything over 18yrs old then you`re too old to make comments like the one you`ve just made on a thread like this.
Go and write to those of your own age on another site more suited to you.

No one ever gets too old to old to try something new in their lives and i hope you made a good dicision on whether to play or not. I am 13 yrs old and i have been plying for 5 yrs now and once you get the hang of it its not hard at all. The only thing that may be hard is memorizing the scales. do rae mi fa so la ti.

I think not!! lol, I am 32 and just about to start learning to play the clarinet. I`ve always loved the way it sounds and too be honest can`t understand why I`ve not learned before now - just kept putting it off until I thought "hey! if I dont do it now I never will!". It`s like setting off on a journey to a new place - sooo exciting!

Of course not!!! People can start instruments at any age!!!! I know someone who`s 56 years old, almost 57, and plays 6 instruments and started 3 of them after he was 49 years old

it isn`t late to start with 36, but you will have to make a lot of effort to become a good clarinetist. but remember, in music is important love, not age!
