Probably your best thing to do is to go to a private music instructor who specifies in that instument. I for one haven`t a clue what a bansuri is but good luck anyway!

hi bhuvan,
i too got a bansuri and dont have any clue....for now im simply trying to play hindi film songs.
well the best thing to do is to find yourself ateacher.
the other short cut is to learn from media guides...for eg. there is a cd called BANSURI GURU by navras records.its available on amazon and also on indiatimes.com
well i have ordered for one as it is difficult for me to train under a teacher as there are none available here.

Hello Bhuvan,
I have been the situation u r going thru couple of months i wanted to play bansuri and i started to play it by myself and now i can play it reasonable well,, yes u can learn it by your own i started with playing some hindi film songs on it.try to play some good songs based on different ragas , your ears are best teachers listen to your playing and if you are going wrong correct it and go further thats what i did while playing.learn to change octave by blowing by applying different blowing force, once you learn changing octave you are almost done.
