Hi I need as much advice as possible! ASAP!! I get maked fun of all the time because everyone at my school think I am a band geek. I LOVE to play the trombone. I am going to quit if the teasing doesn`t stop! I don`t want to but i have no choice. Please help me!!!!

I had the same thing happen to me when i was in school! I quit! It was the stupidest move i ever made! YOU are a star! NEVER quit something you love. I hope some other people agree with me and will give you good advice! GO GIRL!!!

Ummm...are we that self concious to quit something you love just because people are ignorant to tease you?

I got made fun of every single day of my life while in school since 5th grade for being in band.

Was called everything from a band geek to really nasty things but I didn`t let that stop me. I just ignored them and went on with what I love.

Self confidence is the key to this problem.

If you are going to quit just because people are teasing you, then they are the real losers!!!
Take advice from a 25 year old who got sick last year and couldn`t try out for the Edmonton Canadian Idol tryouts, mand will be trying out in Calgary in 2005: Don`t EVER give up on your dreams. Even if it`s the flute, saxiphone, harp, TROMBONE or even a washboard, play to your hearts content.
And if people make fun of you- PLAY EVEN LOUDER!!!!

you`re so right! one of my friends in chorus called me a band geek-you know what i said? i said, "and to think, you`re the ones who wear bowties!" that shut them up.

You are such a band geek-which is so totally out there. I think you should quit and become populare like me! haha! I played the flute for 3 years in middle school but i dropped like it all to be cool in high school Now i am the prettiest in my school! Instead of renting my instrument, I spend all that money on diet pills,acrylic nails, the tanning bed, dying my hair blond (EVERYONE LOVES A BLOND)!!! make-up, waxing, and Victoria Secret lingerie!! Take my advice geek, become HOT Like me!

I think you should just accept it. When people make fun of me i just laugh back alothough it really hurts my feelings. Thats how i got my nickname geeker freaker

don`t worry bout the teasing. i get teased alot for being a freshman and the best trombone in our high school. but my granies grandaughters husband plays trombone for the PRESIDENT and gets paid 200,000. plus other gigs and crap a year plus his wife plays with the presindents band sometimes so stick with it. it`ll all be worth it.
