The highest string is A. Going down from there you have D, G, and C. The fingering is a bit different. Say you`re playing on the D string. First finger is E. Second finger is F-natural. Third finger is F#. Fourth finger is G. The hand position is such that no two fingers ever touch each other (each are a "whole step" apart, if you`re comparing to the violin hand position). The bow is going to be tilted the other way -- that is, stick towards you.
