i`m in a jazz band at my school and we have to memorize all the scales, minor harmonic,and triads,plus all the blues scales.i have to play them for a grade in front of the band, and am having a hard time memorizing them. any suggestions?i know practice, but it`s not sticking w/ me.

Memorize the pattern of tones you hear in each type of scale, so that you always know what it should sound like (that is, the whole step and half step pattern). Use a piano to help you out. Look at them written down and try to learn tricks for remembering key signatures and other things. Email me if you have more specific questions.
