yes the clarinets are quite special we can do just about everything, classical, jazz... we get the very technical and hard parts, and i like them, expecially in marching band where the upper woodwinds get the backround 16th notes
careful some people on this board don`t like posts liek these
im in 9th grade, first chair clarinet, possibly trying out for drum major next season, and i play tenor in jazz band
aim- CropCircleRadr07 if you wanna talk
rock on clarinets

Mandy Moore, Orlando Bloom...loved by fickle little 13-year-olds now, forgotten by next year....
Harold Wright (my (former)clarinet teacher`s teacher)... dead, but still being talked about by clarinettists
Sabine Meyer...the same thing will happen with her; she is considered by many clarinettists to be the benchmark of good playing...
Richard Stoltzman... very controversial, but not likely to be forgotten...
some more well-known ones... Stanley Drucker, Charles Niedich (not sure of the spelling for his last name), Gervase De Peyer, Karl Liester... all of these people will be remembered by clarinettists long after people are saying "Who`s Mandy Moore?"
Robert Marcellus... also one of an older generation of clarinettists who are still being talked about and admired.....
