Hi,
I`m looking to buy a second hand flute.
I`ve been advised that Yamaha`s are great (but can`t afford one.)
I`ve been told to go for one with the following spec...
silver plated
c-footjoint
closed hole keys
offset G
E Mechanism.

Can anyone recommend a suitable flute and where to get one in the Manchester area, UK?

I look forward to hearing from you!!!!

Yes. Get an Armstrong 200E. These are made for the European market and are being very well received by all the teachers who have seen them, with the exception of one who apparently convinced herself it was Chinese because of the low price!

We have a new one right now with a minor cosmetic fault at £220, oithewise fully guaranteed and with our usual 14 day no quibble returns policy.

If you can`t run to that then you`re either looking at a new Chinese flute (some such as the Jinyin are reasonable) or a used one with no guarantees, which isn`t too bad if you have someone who can go and see it with you.
