In 1955, or so, my parents gave me a violin... I stopped playing, but sometime in the 60`s I took it from it`s case and framed it, just to enjoy it`s look... I`m now reframing it (light weight wires holding the instrument and bow in a shadow box) and copied out the label, hard to read, discolored and some parts torn, but I think it says:
"Antonius Stra---ar(or v?)ius Cremonemlis"
"Faciebat(last letter?) Anno 1721"
Any ideas of history, value (I`m NOT selling, just curious).
