ok i am a 7th grade floutist of 4 years and i will be the school soloist next year. ok i am going to a competition in May and we are playing an arangement of pieces by henry filmore called His Honor.

in parts G-J there are multiple Bflat trills (3) and i have a trill chart but it kinda sucks and it shows only 1/2 the flute...

so what is the proper fingering for a bflat trill???

help would be much appriciated!! thanks!

don`t worry! B trill is really easy! it`s hard to tell you via email, so why not ask your teacher? if not send a reply.

Start slowly and then work your way up in speed...that is what I tell all my students for any trill.

If you`re using Bflat thumb key, trill your right index finger. If you`re not using the Bflat thumb key, experiment with either your left index or thumb fingers. I forgot which one it was, but I believe it`s the thumb. =/.

Oops, forget the Bflat key trill! Wrong.;(

(in case no one has helped you so far) for a Bflat trill use your Bflat key (your left thumb...round key over Bnatural Key) work on trilling slowly and get faster...the thumb joint is compressed so it will be hard at first. if you are not comfortable to switching to the Bflat key, then keep your thumb on the Bnatural (fingering Bflat as usual) key and trill with left thumb as before only lifting your left thumb and keeping right index finger down.
