That is absolutely not true. It is incredible that you are able to play that many instruments at your age (?), and being able to play multiple instruments greatly enhances your musical flexibility and comprehension.

Those students are just jealous that you are serious about music and are putting in effort and soul into playing your instruments. That is what being a musician is all about.

So if some mediocre band student tells you that having talent is unfair, then don`t listen to them, because they don`t know at all what they`re talking about.

If thats true, I`m so screwed =(

I play the cello, Bb and bass clarinet, soprano alto tenor and bari sax, violin, viola, contrabass, flute, piccolo, some bassoon trumpet baritone trombone and tuba, piano, guitar, and synthesizer if you count that too... prolly a few more, but I cant remember =(

In some senses, you get confused switching between them constantly, from my experience. but then again, thats why you warm up. Once you`re warmed up its all there again =)

lol don`t mind the still trolls... playing more than one instrumet is amazing! i play two so far, and i`m thinking of starting on the oboe or maybe the bass clarinet. maybe you could tell you`re friends that if they want parts they could learn more isntruments too. you could teach them lol

as most people agree, no!The more instruments the better! What do you think band directors do? I play all woodwinds (well, I still am really bad at flute) and have just picked up double reeds, and know a little about brass in general, and it is so cool and fun to know everything, for many, many reasons! If your planing to do music for a living, then the more instruments the better, cause the gigs and community bands and whatnot might not need a alto, but an oboe, and if you know oboe as well... giving music lessons? well, you have a much wider range of people for lessons! Well, it goes on and on, but I hope this helped.

if the instruments are reletively the same (i play flute and piccolo, which usually go hand in hand anyways) then it`s not bad. but it`s hard to master two instruments. it`s not necessarily a bad thing but most teachers wouldn`t recommend it.
