Hi!....I am new to this forum and am looking FOR A FORUM to help me become the Bass Player I want to be.I Have a Peavey Combo 300 bass amp, which I guess is OK for my level. I was a guitar player that cant find gigs as a guitar player, I am sick of Drums...I have played drums for 17 years live with many many bands...So I decided since I like rhythm..{though I am sick of drums!}....and can play guitar....why not do the best of both worlds where I can get a gig????...{Yes I know I sound stupid but I do like Bass!}....My question is....Do any bass players think Bartolini pickups will make enough difference in my tone without having to buy an Ampeg for now???....I have a Fender 5 string Jazz Bass in which it just sounds old and muddy mainly in the Low B string. I want a good clean modern tone without buying thousands of dollars in amps..... My Cort Action 4 string bass sounds better than my Jazz, and that Bass has Mighty Might pickups in it...what do you all think??
