I`m wondering whether to play the clarinet or the flute. I first decided to play the flute, but then I went to a concert where the clarinetist was amazing so now I want to do both. Can anybody give me some insights on both instruments? Whether one is easier than the other?

It all depends. Clarinet is easier in my judgement because i play every instrument with ease. Flute just took me longer. I would go with the clarinet, if u become famous tell them thanks to Brad Williams.

The two instruments I am capable of playing is the clarinet and flute. Clarinet, I loved pretty much, and it`s easy at first and you can have challenges too. Flute, took me a lot of air to start, and it`s very easy when you get used to it. I prefer reed instrument myself, so I`ll switch to bassoon next year. I also play the piccolo, and it kills my ear. Flute is a very nice sounding instrument, clarinet sometimes need a bit of practice to get a nice sound and not to sound too saxaphone-ish. It`s your choice though, and they are both inexpensive to rent, so you can probably do both in some time...!
