Hi folks. I`ve been learning the flute for a short time and am struggling changing from low C# to low E - find that I get a fluttering/warbling sound rather than a clean change. Any tips for improving my fingering of this change which I`m finding difficult at the moment. Thanks

There is no alternate fingering for those notes. There could be another cause for this though. You`re could have a loose screw on the foot joint. I remember a while back my flute started to do that and I took it to a repair man. He told me that a screw was loose and after it was tightened it worked just fine. Although, because you haven`t been playing for a very long time, you may just need to practice more. Hope this helps!
