It depends on what instrument you play. If you play the flute you should watch out for the 1st movement for all the rests. It is very important that you stay on count with that movement it can be very tricky. The 2nd movment just watch out for the sixteenth notes. Make sure your keeping them equal.

Yeah, I`m playing the song now! We perform it Thursday, 5/12. It`s a great piece! I play xylophone, and it`s the hardest thing I`ve ever done. But so much fun to listen to!

I`m A Clarinetist and I`ve got a really good experience in playin Into The Joy Of Spring... My School played this piece for competition and got a Gold Award.... The first movement can be described as a Winter Fury Part... To play the first movement like a Winter Fury, The Brass Has Gotta Be Strong, and the winds, articulation has got to be there... The Trumpet Solo has gotta be expressive and the soloist need a good air support... As for the second movement, Spring Awakening, It Has Gotta sound refreshing as if the Winter Fury has just pass.... For the Flute Solo, The Soloist Has Got To express him or herself.... The Solo Will also Sound better If The Soloist applies Vibrato.... The Flute Solo must also Sound With the Piano... As for Bar 103, the Whole Band gotta be really expressive... And Bar 111, The Clarinets, Bass Clarinets gotta sound with the piano... The Piano has gotta be heard....
For Bar 119, It`s Celerbration of Joy... My School Band Uses Cornet Instesd of Trumpet.... So the Cornet part has gotta be like fanfare... If You`re a Clarinetist or Flutist then you`ll have to count or you`ll lost count and come in late...
As for Bar 168, The Clarinet And Baritone Melody has gotta sound Round and Nice... The Baritone has gotta play loud enough to support and help the clarinet to get the round sound or the clarinets will sound very reedy.... To play well in this part, The Baritone player has gotta have Sectionals with The Clarinets.... Make sure the Baritone Player has gt enough air support...
Bar 186 is the problem where most clarinetists would face... There is no short cut to these notes... The Clarinetists gotta practice 186 and memorised the fingering so that you`ll be confindent ine playing this part and it won`t get messy.... The Next Problem is 246 for clarinets and flutes... It will sound really messy... What my school did is that we cut down on the players in this area.... The ones who could play will play.... And those who are playing this part have gotta practice together so tat it doesn`t sound messy... Make the Clarinets and the flutes practice together.... Last but not least the running notes.... The winds has gotta practice the running notes.... This piece will take you a few months to play it Fantastically.... All You Need Is Practice.... And Practice....
