metal for marching band (b/c weather affects wooden piccolos too much)
wooden for chamber groups/orchestra (less shrill)
basically i wish i had one of each because i`m involved in both.

Definetly a metal piccolo when you march-not only because of the weather, but because it is tough to hear the sound of a wood piccolo in a marching band.

Well then, picc pal, I will start a thread on making a piccolo forum, and convince the moderator to make one, since they did make a voice forum but they seem to ignore the french horns...

In the broader scheme of things, the issues for flute and piccolo overlap so much that having separate forums would be like having at least 7 separate forums for saxophone: sopranino, soprano, C-melody, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, etc, or separate forums for Bb clarinet and A clarinet.

What is wrong with a few piccolo threads included in the flute forum?

Did any of us say it was WRONG? At least I didn`t say that. I was just giving a suggestion.

Rikki, I didn`t mean to say there WAS something wrong, nor imply that anybody else had said so. I was simply asking. You became defensive when there was nothing to be defensive about. Perhaps you assumed a negative tone of voice which was not there.

I asked because there is no reason for change if there is nothing wrong with what already exists. Hence I was asking if there was anythying wrong.

Personally, I think Jessie is just out of her mind. I`ve read a lot of her replies and I have to wonder if she even plays the flute. And if she does, she must be one of the worst to ever pick up a flute.

Every single post that this jessie girl put up has been total blasphamy. What I think she really needs to do instead of being on this forum is to sit down with that horrid band instructor and listen to him for once!

you guys shouldn`t be so mean to someone you don`t know. I know her so i can personally say that she is a retard with her consent and trust me I have it. Obviusly she dosn`t have any clue what she is talking about but that dosn`t mean you have any right to talk to her like that.

Um, I don`t know for sure either, but how do you know Jessie is a she?

....and this is comming from someone that calls themselves poopstain? Need I say more? Jerrico, Erika and poopstain (all same person) I find Jessie to be a great source of information and quite knowlegable for his/her age. That is a lot more that I can say about the worthless post that you just contributed to this forum.

I am ranked within the top five flute players in my state;I have been section leader of the flutes for almost six years, starting in fifth grade;I have been our bands vice president, president and I am going to be the marching majorette this summer...I dont need to help anyone on this forum...how are you guys anyway;I have never seen any of you post replies before now!!!!

You are a fool and if you doubt if I have even picked a flute up in my life, I have to say that you are blind to my contributions on this forum.
I have been debating with myself if I am going to reply to this forum any more (or at least stop over the summer) and I hate to announce that I AM LEAVING until further notice-I do not need to stick around and take things like this from young, snot nosed pre-teens when there is a whole world of flute players out there who are more knowledgeable than these people who say these things....Good bye to Arak and KC and Darkelder-you have been great support and I thank you...I will check in later to see what is happening.

also, everything bad written about Jessie is complete BS! Don`t listen to it. It`s all lies. Jessie is one of the most talented and intelligent person I know. You guys are all lucky to have her on here. Please don`t kill us...
